Stan Simkins is President of Management Advisory Group, a regional management consulting corporation headquartered in Albany, New York. As a former Partner and the Director of Management Advisory Services for a large, regional CPA firm, Stan developed and directed the firm's management consulting department.

Stan also serves as the Director of the Capital Region Family Business Resource Center in Albany and formerly served as Director of the Family Business Institute at Siena College in Loudonville, NY. The Center serves as a venue to bring family businesses together to deal with the unique challenges facing family-owned and operated businesses. It provides a series of seminars, workshops, affinity group meetings, and a newsletter for its family business members. As well as being an occasional speaker, Stan serves as a producer and facilitator for the various meetings and seminars. Stan is also the founder and Director of the Tech Valley Commercial Construction Consortium which includes premier subcontractor companies who serve as an advisory panel to each other.

Stan is the host for Small Business Showcase, a public access TV show at Proctor's Theatre's Open Stage Media featuring interviews with small business owners. Podcasts of his show are available as downloads through iTunes. This television program has been in production for over five years. Stan was the recipient of the Small Business Administration's "Family Business Champion" award in 2004. One of his clients received the "Small Company of the Year" award in 2005 from The Business Review.

Stan has been deeply involved with family businesses for over four decades as a management consultant and financial advisor to hundreds of businesses including the founding and operation of his own businesses. Previously, Stan was the Managing Partner of his own CPA firm that he founded in 1973 and sold in 1983. In 1980, Stan founded, and served as President, of a microcomputer software development company that he sold in 1986. During his 4-decade professional career, Stan also served as the Chief Financial Officer for a large import distribution company, and Vice President of Operations for a multi-entity manufacturer.

Stan was the guest lecturer to the five Family Business Chapters in Australia during 1999 conducting several workshops for not only family businesses, but also for other professional advisors to family businesses. Stan has also appeared as a weekly, featured expert on WRGB-TV (Channel 6) as "The Business Doctor" with Jack Aernecke in 1991-1992 presenting on a variety of business management topics, and hosted a public access television show in Schenectady, NY featuring local business owners (2004-2005). He also appeared on Channel 13 (WNYT) as a guest of Elaine Houston in 2009.
